Transport – Yarrington staff are encouraged to car share and where practicable choose public transport. In addition we encourage our clients to use venues with good public transport links wherever possible. We are endeavouring to work with clients to use alternative methods of communication including telephone conferencing, email and web-casting to cut down on the number of meetings and travel.

Recycling – Our commitment is to re-use rather than dispose whenever possible, minimising waste and to promote recycling and recycled products. We already do this in many areas of our work including audio visual equipment, re-usable stock and stage flats. All our office waste is separated on site and items sent for recycling as appropriate. We are encouraging our customers and suppliers to use environmentally friendly materials and processes including using recycled or FSC paper and vegetable inks for all our print requirements.

Resources – Efficient use of water and energy – using energy saving appliances and practices wherever possible. Minimising the use of chemicals and solvents and only using timber from sustainable forests. We will use our influence to encourage caterers to supply locally produced and supplied food and drink, and to consider Fair Trade products and recyclable packaging options.

Premises – Work together with the estate to develop rain water collection and recycling for use on the parkland and ultimately for use in offices. Begin negotiations for wind turbine on parkland to power external and security lighting around the office areas.

Carbon Neutral Status – To achieve the accreditation, we are planning a rigorous process which involves measuring CO2 emissions from travel, waste and energy, setting in motion plans to reduce CO2 gradually through internal changes and investigate the offsetting of the remaining CO2 emissions to zero through a suitable accredited program.
