National Convention for Safer Communities
June 13th-15th, 2006
Portsmouth

With in excess of 1,000,000 people currently working in Community Safety and its associated agencies, this has become by far and away the largest sector of public appointments and the fastest growing employment sector of the last decade.

Surely then, crime and fear of crime should be at an all-time low – or is it? Just how well are we all working together, have we made those important links with other local agencies including voluntary organisations?

This event is all about making those links and learning and working together. Delegates can mix and match and select those sessions that are most relevant to their work, setting their own conference agenda.

The programme has been developed and will be delivered by a multi-agency group of stakeholders all with Safer, Stronger Communities a key driver in their organisations.

Every Government Regional Office plus Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will be represented and many will be presenting the best projects and initiatives from around the UK.

Skills for Justice will be evaluating many of the convention sessions so we can advise delegates of opportunities for evidencing and working on standards for National Vocational Qualifications - and there will be a Learning Zone in the main marquee looking at a wide range of career and training opportunities.

With such a huge breadth of subjects all under one roof, there is something for everyone from Police, to Town Planners, CCTV managers, Health & Safety, Elected Members, Community Safety professionals, Anti-social behaviour and Domestic Violence Co-ordinators.

The prices for this event represent excellent value and set a new benchmark to challenge some of the commercial events on offer. This event is all about working together so we encourage all agencies, all organisations, all Local Authorities to send their teams along to this unique event.

With over a 1000 delegates expected from all over the UK and from all corners of Community Safety this is an event not to be missed.
